UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (GFEAI 2026) will take place from 14 to 17 September 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Forum is co-hosted by UNESCO and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) and the International Centre for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), and will have as its main theme "Transforming Global Cooperation for Ethical AI Governance".  194 States have been invited to this Policy & governance forum. Global Forum on AI and the Social Sciences. The London School of Economics Data Science Institute will bring together leaders across government, industry, academia, and civil society from around the world, on September 16th-17th, to discuss how AI is reshaping work and what governments, firms, and workers must do to prepare for the changes ahead. The event will be streamed online. 


United Nations Digital Cooperation Day 2026. On Monday, 21 September, 2026, in Parallel to the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, The United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET) is holding the Digital Cooperation Day, with the theme Shaping A Global AI Future Through Science, Policy and Capacity.  which will bring together government representatives, private sector, civil society, academia, and industry leaders to take stock of progress on implementation.

The event will showcase country-led deliverables, highlighting how digital cooperation is being translated into action on the ground. Centered on AI from the ground up, the event will explore the building blocks of national digital transformation. Discussions will focus on practical country experiences, lessons learned, and opportunities to accelerate impact through collaboration and partnership.

The in-person event will be held from 9:00 am to 16:30 ET in Ease, 605 3rd Avenue, New York City, USA.


The AI Policy Summit 2026 organized by Greater Zurich Area and ETH AI Center will take place on September 29 (online) -30th (in person) 2026, aiming to foster a multi stakeholder dialogue with leading experts to explore the use of public policy to capture the benefits of artificial intelligence.

 

Apply AI Webinar – Sectoral deep dive: public sector This webinar, organized by the European Commission, is part of the Apply AI sectoral webinars to promote the adoption of AI and showcase how AI can enhance competitiveness and technological sovereignty in the EU. The webinar will take place on September 30th from 10:30 to 11:30 CEST, and will focus on challenges and opportunities for AI adoption in public administration and on initiatives to support the deployment of EU-made, interoperable and open-source AI solutions across the public sector.
